The purpose of the Quad Panoramic Night Vision is to provide the user with more information in nighttime environments and the user is able to OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) faster.
The most distinctive feature of this product is the four separate image intensifier tubes with four separate objective lenses arranged in a panoramic orientation.
The two lenses in the centre point forward like traditional binocular night vision to give the user more depth perception, while the two lenses on the sides point slightly outwards from the centre to widen the peripheral field of view. The two tubes on the right and the two tubes on the left are fused at the eyepiece.
The user sees the two centre images overlaid with the two outer images, resulting in an unprecedented 120°(compared to the 40°or so field of view of conventional microluminescent night vision devices) field of view.)
